A new central pumping station, feeding water into the Negev-bound pipeline, was officially inaugurated today. The new plant, situated northwest of Beersheba, has a capacity of 15,000,000 cubic meters annually.
The plant will act as a distributor and relay point for water pumped from wells located further north, and will pump water onward to the Negev. It will irrigate a large area extending between Negba in the north to Beersheba in the South.
