Mrs. Lina Badt, 86 years of age, ### pioneer San Franciscan and one o# the founders of the Sisterhood ### Temple Sherith Israel, died here a### the home of her daughter, Mrs. Henry Rudee. Her funeral was held at Temple Israel, the services marking the first time that funeral services had been held in the synagogue for a woman. Mrs. Badt, widel### known for her Jewish activities, had been a member of Conregation She###rith Israel for 60 years.
HIAS ELECTS NEW OFFICERS
At a meeting of the Board of Directors of the Hebrew Sheltering and Immigrant Aid Society of America (Hias) held at 425 Lafayette Street, the following officers were elected: President, Abraham Herman; vice-presidents, Aaron Benjamin, Jacob Massel, Albert Rosenblatt, Nathan Schoenfeld (all of New York); Harris Poorvu (Boston), Israel Silberstein (Baltimore), Adolph Copeland (Chicago), H. H. Cohen (Philadelphia) and Harry K. Wolff (San Francisco): treasurer, Harry Fischel and honorary secretary, Samuel Goldstein.
Reports were presented at the meeting of the relief activities of the Society for the Jewish refugees from Germany. These activities are being carried on through the headquarters of the Hias-Ica-Emigdirect in Paris, which are disbursing emergency relief funds now being raised by the Society in this country.
