Canada’s first Israel Trade Fair was opened here Monday night by Ontario Premier Frost in the presence of 600 leaders of the Toronto business community.
Ambassador Michael Comay and Mayor Philips of Toronto also viewed the booths of 90 exhibitors. A fashion show highlighted the opening ceremonies.
Mr. Comay emphasized Israel’s efforts to increase exports to Canada which rose 50 percent last year to $1, 500, 000 over 1954 figures.
Premier Frost praised the exhibition and urged Canadians to buy Israeli products. He praised Canadian Jewry for supporting Israel. The Toronto fair will move to New York in April.
