An agenda covering the major problems confronting the Zionist movement not only in Latin America but throughout the world was outlined here today as the first Latin American conference of General Zionists got under way. Robert Aron opened the conference which more than 100 delegates from Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil, Bolivia, Peru, Chile and Mexico are attending.
Items coming up for consideration are: A survey of General Zionism in Latin America; clarification of the ideological and technical problems of Zionism in this hemisphere; preparations for the next Shekel campaign; and the election of delegates to the next World Zionist Congress, with a specific effort to secure greater representation at the Congress for Latin American Zionists.
Participating in the conference are Leon Ilutovich, executive vice-director of the Zionist Organization of America, and Haim Ariav, a member of the Israeli Parliament and head of the General Zionist faction in the Parliament.
