The first group of visitors officially representing the British Jewish community arrived in Israel for a ten-day visit. It was headed by Barnett Janner, president of the Board of Deputies of British Jews and of the Zionist Federation of Great Britain, and Dr. Israel Brodie, Chief Rabbi of the British Commonwealth.

“This is a historic moment,” Mr. Janner declared when the group was welcomed by Meir Grossman on behalf of the Jewish Agency, which is host to the visitors. He called the group one which represented “every religious and political trend amid British Jewry.” The visitors will tour Israel and study the problems of immigrants from Britain.
