The first building to be erected from Project Renewal funds, an ultramodern day nursery for 80 young children, was opened last week in Ramat Hashikma, a district of Ramat Gan. The funds were raised by the Philadelphia Jewish community, which is linked to Ramat Hashikma in Project Renewal.
Jewish Agency Executive chairman Leon Dulzin, Deputy Premier Yigael Yadin, the government’s chief representative on Project Renewal, and Ramat Gan Mayor Israel Peled attended the opening together with representatives of the Philadelphia community. Dulzin declared that past misunderstandings between the government and the Jewish Agency over. Project Renewal were now over and the two bodies would be working in harmony on the project.
