When the first Real Estate Securities Exchange in the world opened for business Monday morning, the work of Aaron Rabinowitz as one of the founders, officers and backers of this realty venture came to fruition. When the plans for the Exchange were first announced some months ago, Mr. Rabinowitz, who is one of the best known real estate men in New York, was the so-called brains of the project. During the preliminaries to the actual launching of the Exchange into the business world, Mr. Rabinowitz served as chairman of the important member ship committee. In that capacity it was his duty to go over carefully the applicants for membership in the pioneer real estate undertaking. Today Mr. Rabinowitz is vice-president of the Exchange, which in a short time is expected to become a serious rival to the older and better known Stock Exchange.
Just how many members of the new Exchange are Jewish is hard to say but when the membership committee announced those admitted to the Exchange some weeks ago, not a few names of prominent Jewish real estate men were listed. Among these were A. E. Lefcourt, Benjamin Winter Frederick Brown, and others.
