The first tree in the forest named after King Alexander, the recently assassinated King of Jugoslavia, was planted today by High Commissioner Wauchope of Palestine, in the presence of notables and representatives of the Jugoslavian government, and of the Zionist Executive.
The Jugoslavian Consul was one of the principal speakers at a luncheon served following the tree-planting ceremony. The other speakers were Sir Arthur Wauchope, and M. M. Ussishkin, head of the Jewish National Fund.
The cornerstone was laid today in Tiberias for a synagogue which will be situated near the grave of Maimonides. The synagogue will also have a Yeshiva, a school for training rabbis.
