A small Greek freighter, the Kunitza, carrying a cargo of cement and other building material from Haifa, arrived at the Gulf of Akaba port of Elath today, the first ship in nine months to reach the blockaded port. The freighter, which passed through the Suez Canal, was detained for two days at Port Said by the Egyptians.
Arrival of the ship created intense excitement in the town and was the occasion of celebration. Tomorrow, residents of the town will be taken aboard the freighter for a cruise in the Gulf.
