The first volume of the Encyclopedia Biblica–considered a highly valuable contribution to Biblical science–was published here today by the Mosad Bialik, the Jewish Agency’s Institute for Hebrew Literature. Preparation for the publication of the Encyclopedia has been going on for more than eight years.
Chief editors of the Encyclopedia are Professors Eleazar Sukenik and A. Cassuto. Among those aiding in the project is Dr. Nelson Glueck, president of the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in Cincinnati. The Encyclopedia is being prepared by Israel scholars and their students and will include summations of scholarly studies on Biblical subjects from all parts of the world.
