The first World Hebrew Congress will open here tomorrow evening with Jewish cultural leaders from many countries attending. Aubrey Eban, Israel’s delegate to the United Nations and its Ambassador to Washington, will deliver the main address of the opening session.
The aims of the Congress, as expressed by its sponsors, are: “To bring Hebrew to the forefront of Jewish life everywhere; to enrich it and make it more meaningful; to create institutions which will make feasible and possible the conduct of Hebrew work on the largest possible scale.”
