Fischel Bimko, Yiddish playwright and author, died here this weekend at the age of 74. Born in Poland, he began his career there as a short-story writer for Jewish newspapers. Subsequently, a number of his novels were published in Yiddish. He belonged to the Hebrew Actors Union, the Hebrew Actors Club, and the Yiddish P.E.N. Club. He established the F. Bimko Literary Fund for the best book written in Yiddish and the Lonia Rubenstein Bimko Literary Memorial Fund for the best Yiddish play.
