Five members of the Israel Diamond Exchange are among the some 30 people being held by police in an investigation of the theft of diamonds at Ben Gurion Airport valued at about $250 million. Most of the suspects are porters at the airport. Police believe that some diamond merchants are involved in the thefts. But Moshe Schinzer, president of the Ramat Gan-based Diamond Exchange, said he believes the charge that members of the exchange are involved is a police fabrication.”
