Funds for relieving the situation of the Jewish population in Poland were alloted at a preliminary conference of representatives of the Joint Distribution Committee here.
David S. Schweitzer, acting chairman of the Joint Distribution Committee Bureau in Berlin, Mr. Gitterman, representative of the Joint Distribution Committee in Poland and Dr. Werner Senator, general secretary of the J. D. C. in Europe, participated in the conference which had for its purpose the fixing of the budget of the J. D. C. for the month of November. Fifty thousand dollars were allotted for the free loan Kassas, for unemployment relief and for children’s kitchens, $25,000 for orphan care and $10,000 for the Toz, the society for the protection of the health of the Jewish population.
