Flood Causes Damage to Vilna Jewish Quarter

Mary Jewish houses were damaged by a flood here, caused by the overflow of the River Wileika.

Several villages along the river and two Vilna suburbs. Antolzol and Zwierzyniec, mainly inhabited by Jews, were covered by the water. The damage to property was great. It has not been ascertained whether any lives were lost.

A local citizens committee was established for immediate relief of the sufferers.
