For the first time, a Soviet political review has published a map of Israel, just days from the scheduled beginning of the peace talks in Geneva. The last issue of the Soviet monthly “Novete Vremia” (Modern Times), carried a map of the Middle East showing Israel not with the borders of 1967 or 1948, but those of 1947. The caption read: “The true borders of the state of Israel, those set down in the UN plenary resolution of November 29, 1947 and the only valid ones.”
