Ford Disqualified by Anti-jewish Propaganda Democratic Leaders Thina

In the light of discussions carried on among Charles F. Murphy, Thomas Taggart and George E. Brenan, Democratic party leaders of New York, Indiana and Illinois, respectively, Henry Ford will not cut a formidable figure in the Democratic National Convention next year, says a despatch from French Lick, Ind., to the New York Times.

One fact that will militate against the candidacy of Mr. Ford is his extreme prohibition views. Aside from this, having antagonized and alienated the Jews, Mr. Ford, as his candidacy is viewed here, has placed himself entirely out of the running, even though he would be fitted for the Presidency. As Messrs. Murphy. Taggart and Brennan view the situation, Mr. Ford has placed insurmountable obstacles in the way of his nomination through propagabda, As they see it, he would be impossible as a candidate on any platform inveighing against the Ku Klux Klan and racial and religious bigotry. It is predicted here that the Democratic National Convention, through pressure from influential quarters, may be compelled to come out against the Klan, regardless of its strength in the South and its ascendancy in certain States north of Mason and Dixon’s line.
