Strengthening of the Jewish homeland in Palestine was stressed by Pierre van Paassen in an address before the Brooklyn Jewish Center. There must be a central authority to act as spokesman for the Jews in the councils of the nations, he said, especially since so many nations are on the verge of being invaded by Fascism.
Describing the condition of the German Jews as positively hopeless, Mr. Van Paassen, well known foreign correspondent, declared that the only hope for them was in a new Jewish nationlism, and called upon the Jews to “face the future courageously by binding themselves closer to Eretz Israel.”
