Foreign Minister Dinesh Singh said here that India had “no animosity towards Israel” and believed that “Israel as an independent country has the right to exist.” Mr. Singh spoke during a parliamentary debate on West Asia (Middle East) in which many members accused the government of hostility toward Israel. The debate revealed no new Indian policies on the Middle East conflict. But government circles were apparently keenly interested in the outcome of the current Big Four talks at the United Nations.
