Sir Ronald Storrs, at various times governor of Northern Rhodesia, Cyprus and Jerusalem, told a Conservative Party meeting today that foreign governments financed the recent six-month Arab strike in Palestine.
Describing the Holy Land as “a permanent powder magazine,” he demanded that the Government act on the findings of the Royal Commission now in Palestine investigating the disorders.
“We should continue undeterred by objectors, unhustled by those who wish to pour in immigrants faster than we desire,” he asserted.
