At a meeting of representatives from the various philanthropic, fraternal and social organizations of this city, the Jewish Community Council of New Haven was organized.
One of the first activities of this newly organized council will be the working out of a plan of supporting the national organizations and institutions which come to New Haven for funds. Hyman Jacobs was chosen president of the Council.
A drive for $25,000 for a new Jewish Community Center in West Haven is now under way. Ecorts are also being made here toward undertaking steps for a Jewish Community Center in New Haven proper.
