The estate of approximately $7,000,000 bequeathed by industrialist Gerard Swope to the Israel Institute of Technology, will now be available in full to the Technion following the filing yesterday of a transfer tax appraisal with New York State tax authorities.
The bequests of Mr. Swope, who died November 20, 1957, came from his personal estate and a trust left by his wife, who died October 28, 1955. The industrialist left $691,909 from his own estate to the Technion Society for its loan fund and to provide advanced study for Technion graduates at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
