Formation of a central bureau of Jewish education in Newark. will be recommended to the Conference of Jewish Charities as a result of a conference held there. Discussion at the conference was based on the report of a survey made for the Charities body by the Bureau of Jewish Social Research which recommended the establishment of a coordinated centralized body to administer Jewish education in the city.

A committee representing the Conference of Charities will meet within a few days with a committee from the United Hebrew Schools to consider the financial state of the largest orthodox educational unit in Newark.

Over $50,000 was raised by the Israel Orphan Asylum at its annual affair held Saturday night at Madison Square Garden. Judge Gusrave Hartman. president of the Israel Orphan Asylum, presided.

William M. Fleitman. director of Fleitman & Company, one of the oldest wholesale dry goods concerns in New York, died in Paris at the age of 70, according to word received in New York.
