Formation of a nationwide association of “American Friends of Israel” and extension of Marshall Plan aid to the new state was urged here by State C.I.O. president Louis Hollander, at a luncheon attended by Zionist and community leaders at the Hotel Statler.
Mr. Hollander, who recently returned from Israel where he made an extensive study of economic and social conditions, said that it was difficult to see the logic of granting U.S. economic assistance to “the heirs of the Nazis in Germany and not as yet to their victims in Israel.”
