Dr. David Herzog, former Chief Rabbi of Graz, Austria, died here today at the age of 77.
Dr. Herzog, who was born in Slovakia, was a professor of Oriental Culture at Graz University until the Nazi Anschluss. After the putsch, Herzog, an honorary citizen of the city, was buried into the river Mur by the Nazis, but was rescued. In 1940 he reached England where he continued his research.
