James M. Cox, former Governor of Ohio, and Rabbi Ferdinand Isserman of St. Louis were the principal speakers, together with Rabbi Louis Witt of this city, at the formal opening at the Hotel Biltmore here tonight of a campaign to raise funds to aid German Jews.
Tonight’s function, presided over by Joseph Thal, chairman of the local United Jewish Appeal campaign committee, was attended by several hundred non-Jews. The campaign is under the auspices of the United Jewish Council, of which R. C. Adler is president.
