Progressive circles in the Near East are reported gravely concerned at the growing political influence of Dr. H. Schoul, one of Hitler’s attending physicians, who recently arrived in Cairo.

Since his arrival, Schoul seems to have become a close adviser to many Arab leaders including the heads of the Syrian and Lebanese Governments and leading representatives of Irag and Yemen who have visited him. King Ibn Saud of Saudi Arabia has invited him to his palace.

(A dispatch from Nuremberg yesterday said that a document brought there for possible use at war crimes trials contains the record of a request by the ex-Mufti to the German air force to bomb Jerusalem. The document says that the Germans had been considering bombing Jerusalem, but decided it would be bad propaganda. The Mufti is reported to have suggested that Jews would be the chief victims of bomb attacks on Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.)
