Former Israeli Foreign Minister Ariel Sharon was considered the favorite to win Thursday’s Likud Party primaries. But his opponents, Jerusalem Mayor Ehud Olmert and former Finance Minister Meir Sheetrit, could force a runoff if no candidate receives at least 40 percent of the vote.
