Former Israeli Prime Minister Shimon Peres said no one has made any “written or oral offers” to the Syrians about a withdrawal from the Golan Heights. Speaking to an international Jewish media conference in Jerusalem, Peres, now an Israeli Cabinet minister, said that all the hype about a pullback to the June 4, 1967, border is premature because Israel and Syria have their own interpretations of where that border is.
