H.W. Ludin, former German ambassador to the pro-Nazi Government of Slovakia, today testified at the war crimes trial of Josef Tiso, former head of the government, that Tiso had unofficially opposed the deportation of Slovakian Jews.
He admitted, however, that Tiso and his ministers had readily agreed to Nazi demands for deportation which were submitted through him. Ludin also stated that Slovakian anti-Jewish Legislation was stricter than the Nuramberg laws.
