Funeral services were held here yesterday for Leo Bernstein, for 25 years director of the field staff of the United Jewish Appeal of Greater New York, who died last Thursday at the age of 71. He retired from his UJA post last February. His service with the UJA dated from its inception in 1939. He was promoted to executive rank soon after World War II and was responsible for the entire field staff until he was named director of special gifts in 1970.
