Formation of a national group of young men to combat Nazi-ism in this country, and to be called the Anti-Nazi Minute Men, has been announced by Edgar M. Burman, national chariman of the Bycott Committee of Jewish War Veterans of America, 276 Fifth avenue.
The organization will not be military in character, its sole purpose being to prevent repetition in this country of the Hitler disaster in Germany. Mr. Burman will address a group fo 25 young men in Philadelphia on February 18, with the view of enrolling them in the movement. The movemnet is receiving country-wide and enthusiastic response, Mr Burman said in a statement.
“COMMUNITY CAPERS OF 1934” TO BE GIVEN TONIGHT IN BKLYN
“Community Capers of 1934” is the annual show offered tonight at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, Fourth avenue and Fifty-fourth Community House.
The show, an original revue written by Len Golos, J. M. Josefsberg, Sid Schwartz and Joe Noble, has a cast of more than sevently players and contains fourteen scenes. Jack Shatter is staging the production. The receipts of the show will be used to meet the year’s expenses.
WASHINGTON HEIGHTS WILL CELEBRATE ANNIVERSARY
Washington Heights and Inwood Jewry will commemorate fifteen years in Zionist activities at acelebration to be held at the Y. M. H. A., 975 St. Nicholas Avenue, on Sunday evening, March 4.
Morris Rothenberg will be guest speaker. The other speakers will include Mrs. Edward Jacobs, Isaac Imber, Neison Ruttenberg and Hyman J. Reit.
The United Zionist Committee in charge of the affair has as its officers Morris Berman, chairman; Mrs. M. Jacobs, Bessie Yanover and Emanuel Bodoff, co-chairmen, and Marcus Zetkin, secretary.
Representatives of all Jewish organizations and synagogue on the Heights will be present.
