Forty cases of unpunished attacks on Jews in Poland are reported in Trybuna Wolnosci official organ of the United Workers (Communist) Party in Poland, revealed here today. The paper also reveals that Jews were thrown out of work, solely because they were Jews. It calls for more intensive action to combat the anti-Jewish sentiment among the population.

The Polish Ministry of Labor informed the Jewish population this week that all Jews who wish to emigrate from Poland must apply for exit visas even though they right have submitted such applications a long time ago. The statement by the Ministry of Interior came after intervention by Jewish leaders in Warsaw who wanted to know why no action had been taken on Jewish applications for exit visas submitted since 1948. It was indicated that the renewed applications would receive immediate attention.
