Forty Jewish refugees from Rumania on board the small steamer Mircea were allowed to land in Palestine on May 20, it was disclosed today in the House of Commons by Harold MacMillan, Under-Secretary for Colonies. They were the second group of Rumanian Jewish refugees admitted into Palestine during May, eighteen passengers from the cutter Michai having landed earlier in the month.
Queried as to whether Jews fleeing from Greece to Turkey would be permitted to emigrate to Palestine, Foreign Minister ?den replied that since the British Government has made no special arrangements with Turkey concerning the refugees from Greece, the question of extending Palestine immigration facilities to them did not arise.
