Forty-three percent of Palestinian residents have left Hebron’s marketplace since September 2000, a new report says. At least 2,000 businesses in the West Bank city also have closed in that time, and three schools were taken over by the Israeli army and closed as well, according to the report released Tuesday by B’Tselem, an Israeli human rights group.
