The authorities have released Moses Orzech, correspondent of the New York Jewish Daily Forward, who had been arrested last week and ordered deported to Nazi Poland on charges of cabling “tendentious” reports concerning Lithuania. Orzech is leaving for France today. His deportation to Poland, which was termed by his newspaper as tantamount to a death sentence, had been averted by strong intervention by colleagues and the British and American consulates.
