A plaque commemorating the establishment of the city of Roseville by Louis Rose in 1869 was placed on a eucalyptus tree situated in the center of the community.
Hyman Wolf, representing local Jewish organizations, and John Davidson, of the San Diego Historical Society, made the presentation. Mayor John Forward of this city discussed the history of the village. Other speakers were the Rev. John Osborn, past master of the Masonic Lodge, and Albert Mayerhoffer, vice-president of the State Historical Society.
