Four major companies which sell gift certificates in the United States for transmission to Israel will merge into one unit by next January 1, it was announced here yesterday by Irving Jaffe, executive vice-president of Scrip to Israel, one of the four companies. The others arel Service for Israel, AMEIC and Sova Israel Stores.
Mr. Jaffe said the merger resulted from the signing of an agreement with the Israel Government last week uniting the facilities of the four companies in Israel into a single distribution company to serve recipients of the gift certificates. Certificates sold by any of the four units and not used before the merger goes into effect will be honored by the new company.
