Four Displaced Jews Will Be Tried by U.S. Military Court for Assaulting Soldiers

The military government announced today that four Jewish DP’s arrested in connection with the abduction and beating of two American soldiers on July 31 at a camp near Ansbach would be tried by a military court in Ansbach on Aug. 20. They will be charged with assaulting American troops and participating in a riot.

Earlier it was announced that only three Jews were detained on the charge, but late last night the Army seized a fourth refugee. The four are being held in a stockade at Muremberg. They are Gerson Hartstein, Chaim Kaplar, Isaak Olberg and Jacob Marguides.
