The military government announced today that four Jewish DP’s arrested in connection with the abduction and beating of two American soldiers on July 31 at a camp near Ansbach would be tried by a military court in Ansbach on Aug. 20. They will be charged with assaulting American troops and participating in a riot.
Earlier it was announced that only three Jews were detained on the charge, but late last night the Army seized a fourth refugee. The four are being held in a stockade at Muremberg. They are Gerson Hartstein, Chaim Kaplar, Isaak Olberg and Jacob Marguides.
