Four awards of $500 each for Yiddish and Hebrew works published in 1950 were announced today by the Louis LaMed Literary Foundation. The winners were I. Bashevis-Singer, for his Yiddish novel, “The Family Muskat;” M. Ribalow, for a book of Hebrew essays, “With the Jug to the Well,” and Dr. Shalom Spiegel, for his book, “Legends of the Akeda.”
