Kadia Molodowsky, S. Miller, S. Halkin and Prof. Abraham Shalom Yehuda have been named recipients of the annual Louis Laked awards for the best books in Yiddish and Hebrew during 1946. The prizes are $400 each.
Molodowsky received the award for a book of poetry entitled “Only King David Remained;” Halkin for a volume of poems, “Tree of Life;” Miller for the novel “Generation of the Flood,” and Prof. Yehuda for a book of essays entitled “Hebrew and Arab.” The works of Molodowsky and Miller were published in Yiddish, while the other two appeared in Hebrew.
