The fourth ritual murder outcry against the Jews within three weeks occurred here yesterday and is causing a great deal of anxiety among the Jewish population. A Greek told a policeman that his child had disappeared and that he was sure that “he had been kidnapped by the Jews for ritual purposes.”
The policeman then searched Karagatch, the Jewish quarter to no avail. Then he demanded the keys to the synagogue and searched the building with similar results. While the policeman was still searching, the child was found by its parents. The Jewish communal authorities have lodged a protest with the city officials who have promised an inquiry.
