Delegates from 62 major Jewish organizations and representatives of hundreds of American Jewish communities will meet here tomorrow at the opening of the fourth session of the American Jewish Conference. They are to make the final decision as to whether the Conference will be succeeded by a permanent representative body. The convention will last through December 1.
Among the leaders who will address the conference are Louis Lipsky, chairman of the Conference executive committee; Dr. Abba Hillel Silver, head of the American section of the Jewish Agency for Palestine; Dr. Stephen S. Wise, president of the American Jewish Congress; Dr. Maurice N. Eisendrath, president of the Union of American Hebrew Congregations; Frank Goldman, president of B’nai B’rith; Mrs. Samuel W. Halprin, president of Hadassah; Rabbi Philip S. Bernstein, former adviser on Jewish affairs to the Commanding Generals of the American occupation zones in Germany and Austria; and Col. Bernard Bernstein, legal adviser to the American Jewish Conference.
