The appalling misery of Polish Jews who are faced with starvation and untold calamity is disclosed in a memorandum submitted to Foreign Minister Jean Louis Barthou today by the Committee for the Defense of the Rights of Jews in Central and Eastern Europe.
It appeals to France to act in behalf of the persecuted Jewish masses in Poland, although the memorandum makes it clear that its supporters do not wish to interfere with Poland’s sovereign rights.
The plight of thousands of these sufferers is resulting in an epidemic of parents abandoning their children, whom they have no way of feeding, the memorandum points out.
