France Confirms Resumption of Arms Shipments to Egypt

A spokesman for the French Foreign Office confirmed today that France will resume munitions shipments to Egypt because Cairo radio broadcasts have eased attacks on France and the North African situation is returning to normal.

In Rome, it was announced that Italy would refuse export licenses for 30 Vampire jet fighter planes which Egypt has ordered from a private Italian manufacturer.

A report from Geneva this weekend said that the Western Big Three foreign ministers, during a meeting there, had decided to impose diplomatic, economic and some military sanctions, backed by air and naval blockade, if necessary, against a Middle East aggressor.
