Reports featured in the London press that an Israel-French agreement for 40 Mirage-3 French jet interceptors would be signed during the current visit of Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion were denied today by a spokesman for the French Foreign Ministry.
Asserting that the report was “absolutely unfounded,” the spokesman told the Jewish Telegraphic Agency that Israel and France have “open trade relations” and such deals as that reported by the London press were not necessary.
