Under-Secretary of State Pierre Abelin announced today that France is prepared to recognize the de facto Israel Government within a matter of hours. He made this announcement after a Cabinet meeting this morning which reviewed all aspects of the Palestine problem.
(At Lake Success, a spokesman for the French delegation confirmed the J.T.A. cable from Paris, adding that French recognition of Israel may be announced even before the next regular meeting of the Cabinet.)
