France said Syria should remove all its troops from Lebanese soil and end its military support for Hezbollah. French Foreign Minister Dominique de Villepin told a news conference Wednesday in Paris that in order for Lebanon “to have its full independence and sovereignty” all foreign troops must leave the country in accordance with U.N. Security Council resolutions, allowing “the Lebanese army to deploy its army along the frontier with Israel.”
