France ‘seriously Considering’ Hull Proposal, to Reply in Few Days

The french government is seriously considering secretary of state Cordell hull’s proposals for establishment of a 29-power committee to facilitate emigration from Austria and Germany, the foreign office officially informed the Jewish telegraphic agency today. It will answer Mr. Hull’s message in a few days.

Meanwhile, a committee of Jewish war veterans sent letters to all ex-servicemen’s organizations urging them to intervene with Vienna in behalf of Captain Sigmund von-Friedmann, president of the Austrian Jewish war Veterans’ Association, and other Jewish veterans who have been arrested in Austria.

A group of influential non-Jews sent a letter to the league of Nations petitioning for urgent consideration of the mistreatment of Jews in Austria.
