The French Home Office today assigned 120,000 francs for relief of victims of the Constantine pogrom. This is the first official action by the French government in regard to organizing relief for the victims, most of whom are homeless and penniless as the result of the brutal Arab pogrom on the Jewish quarter in Constantine. Practically the entire Jewish quarter was gutted by fires set by the Arab bands.
